Nicholas Meets Gracie

Last night, we headed out to the marina again to see the boats. As we were walking on the walkway between The California Yacht Club and The Ritz, we encountered a woman and her two dogs. One was a male and he was just a little anti-social. The second was a sweet little girl puppy named Gracie. She jumped all over John and even got up close and personal with Nicholas. Thankfully, he was ok with Gracie.

Walky Walkerson

Nicholas enjoys walking, well walking in a walker. He's not like Dora's Super Babies that can fly and do all sorts of things. He doesn't even have his first tooth yet. As of now, he just likes to giggle, smile, and walk around in the walker. I think that's more than enough for him.




Well, he also tends to swim around on the bed. I don't have video of that, but I'll share when I do.

First Apples

Back in the day, our John had an issue the first time he ate apples. As you can see from this video, our Nicholas seems to really enjoy them. I just think he likes anything with flavor. He really dislikes his rice cereal. He doesn't even like it if you add baby food to it. He has my delicate palate.

Mush Mouth

At his 6-month check-up, Dr. K gave the ok to start giving John rice cereal and baby foods. Unfortunately, we all got sick shortly after that and we've only been feeding him rice cereal for about a week now. For the most part, he seems happy with it, but he also tends to spit quite a bit out. I think it's the paste like taste and consistency that makes him react in that manner.

Yesterday, Maureen started him up on sweet potatoes. He had a very different reaction to those. He seemed to really savor the flavor. He didn't spit out as much of it as he had been doing with the rice cereal. And, he had that winning grin that he tends to have whenever he is happy.

This morning, I had the great pleasure of changing his dirty diaper that looked just like his baby food. I wonder if his body even had time to process it?

Our Nicholas is such an even tempered baby. At times, I'd say he has the patience of a saint. He loves his brother so much that he puts up with his "love taps". As you can see, he really seems to enjoy the swats that his brother gives him.

Nicholas Loves His Big Brother

John is very kind to Nicholas. As you can see, he gives Nick his toys when he drops them and he also takes him along for rides. What a good brother!!

Hipster Dinner

Nicholas didn't have as much fun at Umami Burger as John did since he can't eat just yet. He did like the music. It was like listening to Morning Becomes Eclectic. He did want to eat because he just kept moving his little jaw back and forth as if he were eating. He's going to start getting his solids on a more regular basis since he was a little off this week due to a cold.

Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner

Actually, if they didn't put Nick in the corner, he would flop over. He's actually rather happy in his corner with his puppy. He kind of looks like one of the Little Rascals in this shot. He could fit in with the little babies that Spanky took care of.
