Crazy Eyes

I don't know if I like it, but he's been giving us crazy eyes more and more these days. The look in his eyes in this video reminds me of the demented look that Garth Brooks had in his eyes during his concert in Central Park on HBO when Don McLean was singing "American Pie." He just had this weird intense glare.

Anywho, Nicholas is entertained by John's shenanigans and even gets in at the act toward the end of the clip. I still have hopes to make these two boys the starts of the next decade. Watch out Jonas Brothers! Your time is almost over! Long Live The Gonzalez Brothers.

Late Night Texting

Nicholas hasn't learned that texting after a night on the town is a bad thing.

Big Boy Tubby

Thus far, Nicholas has taken a tubby in the kitchen sink, a little recliner in the tub, and a little folding tub. In the latter two instances, he shared the experience with John. For the first time, watch Nicholas enjoy the big bath tub all to himself without any devices to suspend him.

New Digs

Nicholas has been sleeping in a pack and play for a while now, but he was on the elevated shelf because he didn't know how to sit up. Imagine our surprise the other day when Maureen found him propped up in a seated position. We definitely had to drop him down. Take a look at his new digs. He'll be there for a while until we get JD transitioned into his big boy bed. At that point, Nick gets to move into John's room and inherits the crib.

Little Mush Mouth

He may have thrush. I have no clue how you get thrush, but the doctor seems to think that the symptoms point to thrush. It's either that or blisters. We're hoping blisters. Based on the photos we've seen on wikipedia and webMD, I'd wager blisters.

Happy Baby

Have I ever told you how happy Our Nicholas is? He's always in a good mood, for the most part. And, he's quite patient and happy as we have "wunch".

Sorry Uncle Rick

I meant to wish you a happy birthday on 8/19/10. Blame my dad.

They Enjoy The Classics

As much as they might enjoy modern things such as Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora the Explorer, and the Backyardigans, my boys know how to appreciate the classics like Runaway Bunny and Goodnight Moon.

The New Aqualad

DC Comics has a new Aqualad that'll be appearing int he pages of Brightest Day. I say that we have our own Aqualad. Look at his command of the water as he splashes about. He even has a theme song if you listen close enough.

Nicholas Loves His Older Brother

Nicholas just loves seeing his brother. He loves it when John pays attention to him. He gets upset when John ignores him. For the most part, John is really good about playing with Nicholas. This afternoon, Nicholas was crying, so John gave him some pacifiers that were still in the packaging. It's the thought that counts and John is very thoughtful.
By the way, this was his first time eating peas. He did not like them very much. He's grown used to them though.

Happy Birthday Mami

I loved spending my day with you and Papi! Feliz Cumpleanos.

Fun on the Sea

Nicholas hasn't quite expressed the great love of the sea that John has; however, he did seem to enjoy himself while we were cruising along the marina. He really is a happy baby. If he were a little girl, I'd call him Gladys because he's so glad, but instead, I'll just call him Happy.

The Ladies Man 2

Nicholas has been taking lessons from John about approaching the ladies. Since he can't talk just yet aside from little grunts and squeals, he just loves to smile at all the pretty ladies in our building. John opens the door for him by saying, "Hi!" and Nicholas just melts their hearts with his smile. Watch out ladies, there are two famous international playboys in training on the loose, but only one of them can talk just yet. Nicholas is the strong, silent type right now.

Already Acting Like A Teenager

I know all little boys do it, but Nicholas really likes to "explore" is body, if you know what I mean. As soon as his diaper comes off, he just starts pawing away at his tallywhacker. He was in the bathtub last night and it was rather difficult to bathe him because he was obsessed. Oh well, John grew out of that phase.

Walking

Grandpa loves to encourage Nick to keep on moving. Before we know it, he'll be walking without the aid of his walker.

Cuter Than Cute

I think he needs a hair cut, but it's hard to deny that our little buddy is as cute as a button. We really can't do much with his hair right now because it's super thin, but we'll give it some time. He'll never have Fr. Chuck hair like John, but it'll turn out just fine in the end.

Hmm, Someone Looks Ready To Crawl

So, the day we have dreaded is happening pretty soon. Our Nicholas is starting to be quite mobile. As you can see in this video, he's ready to do the Army crawl. I'm sure if I placed my phone in front of him that he'd reach it. We're worried about him crawling because he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. Now, we'll really have to be careful about things with him. Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Perhaps He Should Be Driving at the Fontana Speedway

He's not quite as good as his brother was in this just yet, but he's got an excuse. John had much more space to roam around our old place. Here, Nicholas has about 4 square feet of entry way and about a 12 foot length to run around the kitchen. Since it would give Dr. K fits if he knew we allowed Nicholas to run around the kitchen, we don't let him do that. Instead, he gets to run around at the grandparents' houses. I think Grandpa Dick would have been happy to see Nicholas in his dragster.

Someone Is Getting In Touch With His Inner Tech Geek

For the first time ever, our Nicholas didn't put something in his mouth when I gave it to him. Everything, and I do mean everything, goes into his mouth as soon as he gets his grubby, little paws on them. I'm so proud that I didn't have to pull it from his little jaws. He did get upset when I took it away from him though.
