Nicholas has taken to spitting up quite a bit these days. For that reason, I affectionately call him Spewey. He always tends to spit up on Grammy Brady or me. Then again, he spews up on Maureen all the time as well. Maureen wants to call him Spitter, but that reminds me of a camel. I can't envision calling him anything that brings to mind a camel.

First trip to Fiddler's Bistro
Guess who slept through most of it? Yes, our Nicholas just slept away as we had a lovely lunch with Grammy. He even slept when John's friends came over to say hello. They all fawned all over him, but he was nonplussed. He's cool like that. He does what he wants when he wants.
All I know is that we were very pleased to be able to have our meal in peace. Thank you Nicholas and thank you John!
Nicholas' Theme Song
We went through a who bit to-do over John's theme song, Massive Attack's Teardrop, so I've made the decision to declare Nicholas' theme song as New Order's Temptation. Why? Do the following lyrics make it any clearer:
Oh you've got green eyes
Oh you've got blue eyes
Oh you've got grey eyes
And I've never met anyone quite like you before
No, I've never met anyone quite like you before
Clearly, they had Nicholas in mind when this was written some 25-years before his birth. In case you want to hear the line, it's at about 5-minutes into the video.
In case you are wondering, his eyes are looking blue these days.

The Best Fist Pumper
Those of you who watch the Jersey Shore know the dance move known as the Fist Pump. You basically just jump up and down and pump your fist in the air. As you know, Nicholas can't jump up and down, but he can do quite a fist pump. He's on his way to out situationing The Situation.
Yes, if you listen closely, you can hear John through the sound monitor in his room.

Grammy Says
Crater Face
Nicholas had quite a rash on his face. His skin looked like Crater Face from Grease. When Maureen showed it to Dr. K, he said it was the "Johnson & Johnson Rash". Apparently, his skin is too sensitive for the J&J Baby Wash, so we switched to a Dove Beauty Bar. That did the trick. His skin has cleared up and he no longer looks like the angry guy who raced against Danny Zucko in Grease.

Day 1 with the Gymini
Nicholas didn't really get to do much at the gym the other day with John. He just sat there, so we decided to see how he likes the gymini. As you can see, he's not really into it at this point. He did keep on pushing Senor Tucan, but he was pretty much just overwhelmed. John had fun and wanted to get in on the fun.

A Truly Historical Night
This is the first night this week that Nicholas isn't crying due to colic pains. Why, you ask? He fell asleep in his swing. Thank God! This is the first night this week that I haven't been pulling my hair out because nothing will calm him down. Thank you Lowther family for giving us the swing way back when for John. It served him well and it's serving Nicholas well. Let's hope he continues to enjoy his swing.
A Small Trip
Nicholas took a trip to St. A's with Maureen on Monday. She had to go take care of some things in the classroom. He got to meet some of Maureen's co-workers. They all loved him and said he was so good. I find that hard to believe. His middle name should not have been Edward. It should have been Trouble.
Guess WHo Turned 1-Month Old on the 7th?
That's right. Tsar Nicholas the Resplendent turned one full month old. How did he celebrate? The same way he lives his life. He sleeps during the day. He gets fussy with colic from 5 PM to 11 PM and then he goes to sleep. It's an easy life, aside from the gastric pains. Still, I must constantly remind myself that he's only 1-month old and can't help himself.

New Bath Video
As promised, here is video of Nicholas' bath. The towel covering his whoowhoodilly serves 2 purposes. One, it keeps the video G and two, it keeps him from peeing on us. He got better as the bath progressed. He didn't cry too much.

Visitors Galore
This week, Nicholas had a few sets of visitors. First, the Wiseman's came by for a brief visit. Aly got to hold Nicholas, but Jakers just did not want to have anything to do with the Nick. We think it has something to do with the fact that his mom is going to have a baby in the next week. He'll be such a good brother and we know that Aly will be the perfect little mommy. She always does such a good job with John and now with Nick.
Yesterday, we had a visit from the Lopez family. Dylan and Mateo had more fun with John, but they were so happy to see Nicholas. They wanted to go to the hospital, but no one under 18-years old was allowed in the hospital. Anywho, the boys just ran around and had fun with John, and Nicholas just chilled. He's still a little lump who doesn't do anything, but he has been extra good over the last couple of days.
First Bath in a Tub
After his umbilical chord stump fell off, we were given the all clear to give Nicholas a bath in the tub. Maureen asked if she should wait for me to get home from work and I said, "No, give it to him early, so it's not too cold." It would have been nice to be there, but I'd rather he not get any sicker than he was.
Clearly, he had no clue what he was getting himself into. As you can see, he was not pleased at all, but by the end of it, he seemed to be ok with it. He was just shocked when he was placed in the tub. I think he was just remembering being in the womb and how cozy it was. It's not that much fun in the real world.
If John cooperates and it's not too cool, we'll give Nicholas a bath after dinner tonight. I'll even get video. Then again, maybe we'll do it before dinner, tacos.
